Station 2

Station 2 is currently in the process of having it's land cleared by the department. It is located along Highway 196 on the northern side between Dawson Rd and County Line Road. The members must clear the land, and some fill brought in by local residents and the county before construction can begin.

Plans are to build a 40 X 60 foot steel frame building, with 3 bays (room to house 2 apparatus + 1 maintenance bay/later apparatus purchase). In addition, the building will include administrative offices and storage areas. The remaining portion of the land will be used to build a training area for the department, for use in keeping it's members current in their training as firefighters and First Responders.

The groundbreaking will take place once the land is cleared and fill is delivered, with completion a few months later. Original estimated price was around $35,000.00+, but higher prices for steel and rising fuel costs may have pushed the price as high as $65,000 since the money was first set aside over 5 years ago. The department is still in the process of getting new quotes for construction.
